Lutein is a member of the carotenoid family. It is found in egg yolks, corn, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce and other fruits and vegetables. Lutein is a stronger antioxidant than other carotenoids and has been shown to reduce macular degeneration and may be useful in preventing cataracts.
